- Jeff Awards Celebrate a Great Season
A near capacity audience celebrated accomplishments in Chicago theatre at the 43rd annual Jeff Equity Awards at Drury Lane Oakbrook on Monday, November 7. In addition to the presentation of 39 awards, there were live performances from nominated musicals, video performances from nominated plays, plus special awards and surprises.
Top Production Honors went to re-imagined musicals Candide (Goodman Theatre and Shakespeare Theatre Company) and The Original Grease (American Theatre Company). In the Production – Play categories, recipients were Chicago Shakespeare’s The Madness of George III and Remy Bumppo’s presentation of Edward Albee’s The Goat or, Who is Sylvia? The award for Production – Revue went to The Second City e.t.c. for Sky’s the Limit (Weather Permitting)
