Pour rappel, on a déjà eu dans SPN : Amy Acker, Julie Benz, Amber Benson, Mercedes McNab... Charisma en plus ? Ca serait la cerise sur le gâteau !

The CW’s Supernatural aims to slay you by reuniting Buffyverse alumni Charisma Carpenter and James Marsters — aka Cordelia and Spike — in one of its Season 7 episodes, TVLine has learned exclusively.

What’s more, the two actors, who previously worked together both on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its David Boreanaz-fronted spin-off Angel, will be playing husband and wife on the spooktacular drama, which launches its new cycle on Friday, Sept. 23, at 9/8c. Watch for this glorious genre-gasm to come in the new season’s fifth episode, titled “Shut Up, Dr. Phil.”

“This episode is ‘Bewitched gone wrong,’” reveals showrunner Sera Gamble. “[It was] all upside for this successful man (Marsters) while he was married to the witch (Carpenter), but now that he’s pissed her off, the whole town is paying the price.”

TVLine happened to be speaking with Carpenter on Wednesday morning (to talk up her Sept. 1 Burn Notice appearance), when she shared what little she could about her Supernatural outing. “My people called me yesterday to see if I wanted to do it and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’d love to go to Vancouver in the summer!’” she said. “It’s probably one of my all-time favorite cities.”

At the time, little did Carpenter know that the Canadian seaport would be playing host to the biggest on-screen Buffy reunion to date, or at least since her and Nicholas Brendon’s 2006 ABC Family movie, Relative Chaos.

Carpenter and Marsters will film their Supernatural appearance the week of August 22 — after the former swings by New Orleans for a cameo in Haunted High, a just-announced Syfy original movie about teens trapped in a school by the ghost of a headmaster (played by Lost‘s M.C. Gainey). Pulp film icon Danny Trejo (Machete) costars as a possible hero, while Carpenter lords over the school’s library.

“I asked the director, ‘Can I be totally unrecognizable, using make-up effects, or do I have to be a ‘hot’ librarian?’ And he was like, ‘Hot. Librarian,’” she relates with a laugh. “For once, I want to be something different!”

Charisma Carpenter et James Marsters, deux figures emblématiques de Buffy contre les vampires vont rendre visite à Jensen Ackles et Jared Padalecki sur le tournage de Supernatural. D’après Sera Gamble, showrunner de Supernatural depuis le départ du créateur Eric Kripke à la fin de la 5ème saison, James Marsters jouera un homme marié à une sorcière (Charisma Carpenter) et à qui tout semble réussir. Jusqu’au jour où, énervant son épouse, celle-ci s’en prend à la ville toute entière ! Imaginez une sorte de Ma Sorcière bien-aimée qui part en vrille...

Charisma Carpenter et James Marsters se retrouveront sur les plateaux de Supernatural à Vancouver pour tourner leurs scènes durant la semaine du 22 août.


Ce n’est pas la première fois que Supernatural rend hommage à la cultissime Buffy ! Au fil des saisons, les Winchester auront vu défiler tour à tour Julie Benz (Darla), Mercedes McNab (Harmony) et Amber Benson (Tara). C’est la première fois en revanche que deux anciens de Buffy se donnent la réplique dans Supernatural. Carpenter et Marsters s’étaient retrouvés le temps d’un épisode de la saison 5 d’Angel aux côtés de David Boreanaz. Et en 2006, Charisma Carpenter étaient au générique du téléfilm Relative Chaos avec Nicholas Brendon, alias Alex.


La 7ème saison de Supernatural débutera le 23 septembre prochain sur The CW.

Quelle nouvelle, quand même! Deux acteurs pour le prix d'un, c'est juste énorme Je regrette un peu de ne pas regarder SPN, pour le coup, mais je pense que je regarderai l'épisode en question (en espérant qu'il s'agisse d'un stand-alone). C'est sûr que ça va être étrange de les voir former un couple, mais ça ne me dérange pas plus que ça étrangement ^^

(Buffy and Angel must be so jealous, by the way).

In honor of this joyous union between two cult favorite shows, we chatted with Carpenter about teaming up with Marsters and what it was like working with Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki.

Any other Whedonverse alums Carpenter keeps in touch with?

"Last year I went trick-or-treating at Aly's [Hannigan] house and we were together on Veronica Mars. I love seeing Nicky [Brendon], and Julie Benz and I are really close. I'll be in her wedding."

As for her character on Supernatural, Maggie, Carpenter describes her as "a very powerful witch with a bad temper" and says "she was an absolute doll and a lot of fun to play."

Of course we had to ask Carpenter what it was like working with Ackles and Padalecki, whom she calls "great."

"They are both from Texas...I guess they don't really have their accents anymore, but they are really laid-back and down-home and normal," Carpenter says. "Seven years on the same show, you don't always get that, so it was really nice for me."

The Buffy alums' appearance on Supernatural bridges together two of the biggest (and loudest) fan bases in TV history, and Carpenter says the response has been huge.

"It's been really enormous. It has been so positive," Carpenter gushes. "The fans are kind of the same, very die-hard, radical, fanatical and happy, not in a bad way, but just hellbent and true."
