Nicholas sera l'un des rôles principaux du film "Big Gay Love" :
'Big Gay Love' Stars Jonathan Lisecki from 'Gayby’ & Nicholas Brendon
The romantic comedy about an overweight gay man and the superficial gay dating scene hopes to be out summer 2013
Following up writer-director Jonathan Lisecki’s indie romantic comedy Gayby, the film about a Manhattan single whom who recruits her gay male best friend (played by Matthew Wilkas) to have a baby with her the "old-fashioned way," is his next role in Big Gay Love.
Directed by Ringo Le, Big Gay Love stars Lisecki as Bob in a story about an overweight gay man who is comically challenged by the superficial gay dating scene. "People like me don't usually get to play the lead in a romantic comedy," says Lisecki, whose Gayby was nominated for Best First Screenplay at the Spirit Awards 2013. "I am proud to be part of the Big Gay Love family."
"We are gay. We are straight. We are of different sexes, colors, and beliefs. But we came together to make this film because we share one common belief. Every single person deserves the same chance at finding love,” says Le. "I want that kid out there who might be thinking about taking his life to see his beauty in this film when the world is telling him otherwise. It is vital. It is important. Especially at this time.” Le also annouced that filming is completed, and the picture is expected to start the film festival circuit this summer 2013.
Starring opposite Lisecki is Nicholas Brendon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) as his "star crossed lover" Andy, whom helps Bob discover himself as he journeys on a path of learning what love truly means.
"I'm happy to be part of an independent gay film production that gives a deeper appreciation of the diversity in the LGBT community," says Brendon on his role, which isn't his first time playing gay.
In 2004, Brendon starred in TV movie Celeste in the City, which was about a small-town girl who moves to Manhattan and is taken under the wing of her gay cousin Dana, who also helps makes her over in a Queer Eye style. Brendon told Out in March 2004 that for the role, "I'm doing kind of a medley of the Queer Eye guys. I put them all in a pot, mixed it, and came out with Dana."

Big Gay Love is a comedy about a chubby gay man who overcomes discrimination based on his looks to find love on his own terms!
The devastating effect of our physique-obsessed culture is explored in the comedy Big Gay Love. In the movie, Bob (played by Jonathan Lisecki of Gayby) appears to have it all – a great job, fabulous friends, and is about to become a first time homebuyer. But his success hasn’t come without a price for Bob has become the chubby gay man everyone adores, but nobody desires. When true love does find Bob in the form of a chef named Andy (Nicholas Brendon), he doubts if the relationship could be real for his years of living in insecurity has gotten the best of him. To keep up appearances with his friends, Bob considers going under the knife to fit in and be perfect. But underneath it all he longs for something more.
Big Gay Love is a love letter for everyone who’s ever wanted to be accepted for themselves regardless of their color, shape, or size.
We are making Big Gay Love because we are tired of seeing rom-com movies about beautiful people looking for sex and pretending it's love, okay? Let's dig deeper people!
In Big Gay Love, we turn the tables around the convention of beauty and shift the lens to a man named Bob, a fabulously hard-working man who has many things going for him in life. But it has been increasingly difficult for Bob to love himself because of the world he lives in. As a party planner who throws hip parties he is surrounded by models, actors, and beautiful people. Not unlike the gay world, it is the only world he knows, and it is impossible for Bob to escape. As a consequence, Bob has lost himself and can no longer see his own beauty.
The heightened image of beauty that is constantly fed to gay men is as damaging as it is to women who have suffered years of scrutiny from the fashion and advertising world. It is important to see images that counter that so we don’t feel alien to our own bodies. It is time we shift the lens of what it means to be “beautiful”. If you believe what we believe, we hope you will join and support us.
All your funds will go to Bob who's helping his mom Betty make her Broadway comeback! And boy does girlfriend need a lot of werk! Say what?!
But seriously, the teaser clip we’ve posted is just a taste of the dedication our cast and crew has put into making this project for you to enjoy. The truly talented artists who passionately believe in this project have put their hearts and souls into this work. Imagine how spectacular and rewarding our film will be for everyone to see with your contribution that you give us to complete our film.
We are in post-production. And we need your help. We need money to edit the film, add music, sound design, color correction, and make digital prints for festivals.
Every single dollar you give us will go towards making this film the best it can be! Whether it is $25 for feeding our crew or $100 that can help record the music we need to make the film spectacular.
We plan to squat in your living rooms until you demand it on Netflix! We want to show this film to everyone who wants to see it. Everyone around the world! We will submit the film to all the film festivals we possibly can so that everyone gets a chance to see it. We truly hope that BIG GAY LOVE will make a difference in the lives of those who see the film because it is a reflection of the diversity of the people in our culture. It is a reflection different from the Hollywood treatment. When people of other cultures see the film and see us, they will not see us as merely mindless, superficial, and self-serving. We are open, inclusive, and diverse. This is the dialogue we hope to bring forth. This is truly the democratization of cinema. This is true beauty.
