SOURCE ICI

Citation :

35. Alyson Hannigan
Willow Rosenberg - Buffy

The Chosen One: Everybody knows Alyson Hannigan's favorite wicked wiccan, the nerdly loveable Willow Rosenberg.

Her Stake in Things: Willow's probably undergone one of the more dramatic transformations across the scope of the entire series, beginning "Welcome to the Hellmouth" as a nerdy computer geek side-kick, and closing out "Chosen" as a white-haired wiccan goddess with a taste for the ladies. And who could forget Buffy's own version of the Dark Phoenix Saga, season six's Dark Willow. With the black hair, and veiny face, it's so cute when your best friend goes all homicidal!

So Long Sunnydale: After Buffy, Alyson closed out the American Pie trilogy before moving on to bigger and better things as Lily Aldrin in the long-running CBS Neil Patrick Harris-powered comedy How I Met Your Mother.

Citation :

31. Ashanti
Lissa - Buffy

The Chosen One: Like her predecessors, a demon woman vying for Xander's attention and trying to open the Hellmouth. The guy's like demon catnip.

Her Stake in Things: Rebound relationships are tough, especially when the first date doesn't go quite the way you hoped. Xander's instincts served him well, as he soon found himself tied up and hanging from the basement ceiling, and not in the fun way. Buffy to the rescue!

So Long Sunnydale: Ashanti's never had any trouble selling her soul for a music career, but her acting career's gotten several bumps up since Buffy, netting small roles in John Tucker Must Die and Resident Evil: Extinction.

Citation :

30. Sarah Thompson
Eve - Angel

The Chosen One: Sarah Thompson played Lilah Morgan's replacement as liason to the Senior Partners at Wolfram and Hart, simply known as Eve.

Her Stake in Things: Initially untrusted (would you trust anyone who works for lawyers, let alone demonic ones?) Eve quickly established her willingess to shake up Team Angel by witholding valuable information, planting parasitic monsters, and secretly working to undermine friends and employers alike with boyfriend and longtime Angel villain Lindsey McDonald. While Eve may have eventually gotten kicked out of the garden (come on, I had to), she did leave us all with with valuable insight into the mystically-influenced sex habits of UC Santa Cruz students.

Leavin Los Angeles:
Immediately following Angel Sarah ascended to a 24 episode stint on 7th Heaven, before bouncing around TV land and eventually winding up in Antoine Fuqua's Brooklyn's Finest.

Citation :

29. Clare Kramer
Glory - Buffy

The Chosen One: Former Bring It On supporting player Clare Kramer played the female half of the big bad Hellgod Glorificus in Buffy's fifth, and final season on The WB.

Her Stake in Things: Glory craved the finer things in life; expensive clothes, lavish spa treatment, boil-covered minions to do her bidding, and Michelle Trachtenberg's blood in a glass to open the portal back to her demon dimension. While Glory brain-drained a good portion of Sunnydale and ultimately lost the fight, she did succeed in finally killing the slayer, if only inadvertently.

So Long Sunnydale: After her character was quietly smuggled to death, Clare moved on to The Rules of Attraction with James Van Der Beek and Jessica Biel, ultimately completing additional TV guest spots (House) and independent films throughout the years.

Citation :

27. Dania Ramirez
Caridad - Buffy

The Chosen One: The lovely Dania Ramirez got an early career boost as potential vampire slayer Caridad during Buffy's final season.

Her Stake in Things: Caridad didn't have much to do on-screen in the Buffy-Verse, but we do know that Xander couldn't help a naughty dream between himself, Caridad, and another potential played by pre-O.C. Rachel Bilson. Can't say we've ever had the same dream, but we're looking forward to it. She supposedly survived the final battle, but hasn't yet appeared in the Season Eight comic.

So Long Sunnydale: In addition to a five-episode stint in The Sopranos, Dania embraced the super-hero genre by appearing in some of its worst offerings; Callisto in X-Men: The Last Stand and wonder-twin Maya Hererra in Heroes.

Citation :

26. Elizabeth Anne Allen
Amy Madison - Buffy

The Chosen One: Once the daughter of a powerful witch, Elizabeth Anne Allen's tier-two witch Amy Madison rivaled Willow Rosenberg as the most wicked wiccan of Sunnydale.

Her Stake In Things: Amy started out possessed by her more powerful mother attempting to re-live her youth, but later proved powerful enough on her own to make every woman in Sunnydale fall for Xander (pretty impressive, if you look at him). Things got hairy for Amy when the town went on a witch-purging kick and she transformed herself into a rat in order to escape, not realizing no one would be able to effectively turn her back until season six. Once she returned bipedal, she promptly lured Willow into magic abuse before being shunned, eventually returning as an enemy rival mounting the flayed carcass of Warren Mears night after night. And you thought Adam Busch was gross before.

So Long Sunnydale: The list of Buffy one-offs grows increasingly scarce, as Elizabeth only continued onward with bit parts in JAG and Close to Home.

Citation :

25. Bianca Lawson
Kendra Young - Buffy

The Chosen One: Bianca's Kendra Young was called as the next Slayer in line after Buffy's first, and mostly forgettable death. Too bad about her pesky resurrection.

Her Stake in Things: The Jamaican Kendra arrived in Sunnydale to stop the rise of the demon Acathla, but despite her rigid training never lived to see the day thanks' to Drusilla's deadly pointed...fingernails.

So Long Sunnydale: No stranger to the fanged bunch, you can find Bianca in a recurring role on the CW's vampire-craze cash in, The Vampire Diaries.

Citation :

24. Elisabeth Rohm
Kate Lockley - Angel

The Chosen One: Los Angeles Detective and demon-distruster all around was Elisabeth Rohm's Kate Lockley

Her Stake in Things: Kate just never caught a break from working with Angel in LA, always under duress from one vampire or zombie or another, ultimately deciding LA would be best rid of his kind. Once fired from LAPD, she promptly tried to end it all before Angel managed to save her one last time, an interesting feat considering she never invited him into her apartment.

Leaving Los Angeles: Working with the law took a shine to Elisabeth, who nabbed a role on the now-cancelled Law and Order as A.D.A. Serena Southerlyn, but you can also catch her as Noah Bennet's new girlfriend on the still-thriving Heroes. Wait...

Citation :

18. Bai Ling
Jhiera - Angel

The Chosen One: Sexy beanpole Bai Ling played Jhiera, refugee from a Demon clan at odds with Angel's methods.

Her Stake in Things: Jhiera took refuge from her demon dimension, setting up shop in Los Angeles for the women of her kind to seek shelter from their more oppresive male counterparts. She disagreed with Angel's need to protect humans, and didn't mind burning a few of them alive when they crossed her. But that wasn't the only place the heat between Angel and Jhiera lay, if her light-up spine was any indication.

Leaving Los Angeles: Bai (and her nipples) have made appearances in everything from LOST, to Crank 2 and even Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Citation :

16. Emma Caulfield
Anya Jenkins - Buffy

The Chosen One: Resident bunny bigot and girlfriend/ex-fiancee to the dashing one-eyed Xander Harris.

Her Stake in Things: Originally a Vengeance Demon Granting wishes to scorned women everywhere, Emma Caulfield's Anyanka lost her powers and fell head over hooves for Xander, remaining his girlfriend until the ill-fated wedding in season six, whereby she resumed her wicked ways. She couldnt bring herself to hurt the one-eyed wonder, but the reunion was short-lived due to her unceremonious bisection in the Hellmouth's final battle.

So Long Sunnydale: Emma's biggest post Buffy role came in 2003's blip on the radar horror-fest Darkness Falls. Reportedly, she passed on the audition for the the role of Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica as well. Frak.

Citation :

15. Mercedes McNab
Harmony Kendall - Buffy / Angel

The Chosen One: Mercedes McNab played the vapid and self-obsessed teen cheerleading queen Harmony, second only to Cordelia, before graduating to play the vapid and self-obsessed teen vampire Harmony throughout the rest of the series, eventually moving onto Angel.

Her Stake in Things: After shuffling off that pesky mortal coil, Harmony went on to annoy the underworld as a vampire, particularly her undead sometime-love interest Spike, who attempted to stake her with more than just his...ahem. After failing miserably as a villain, Harmony moved onto sunny (for humans, anway) Los Angeles, taking a secretary position with Wolfram and Hart. And sure, she might have betrayed Angel in the end, but what woman could resist Adam Baldwin?

Leaving Los Angeles: Mercedes hasn't lost her taste for the demonic, appearing in both Supernatural and the short-lived Reaper.

Citation :

13. Juliet Landau
Drusilla - Buffy / Angel

The Chosen One: Juliet Landau (yes, that Landau) played the centuries-old daffy vampire Drusilla, sire to Spike and one of the few surviving villains.

Her Stake in Things: Drusilla (her real name) began life in 1860 as a simple English girl haunted by visions of the future, until the mischevious Angelus decided it'd be a lark to drive her completely insane and turn her into a vampire. Eventually, she craved a play-thing of her own and created the legendary vampire Spike, but grew bored of his obsession with slayers and left him after their trip through Sunnydale. She popped up once more in LA to re-sire her "grandmother" Darla, and even tried to make nice with the now Buffy-loving Spike, before departing for futures unknown.

So Long Sunnydale: Juliet maintains a growing voice-acting career, lending her haunting accent to everything from the animated Justice League to Ben 10.

Citation :
12. Felicia Day
Vi - Buffy
Mag - Dollhouse
Penny - Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

Dr. Who? - Felicia Day has the distinction of being one of the women appearing in the most Whedon-Verses as potential vampire-slayer Vi, techno-warrior Mag, and Penny, the object of both Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer's affections.

Everything You Ever: Vi remained one of the few potential slayers to survive the Buffy series finale, along with Mag surviving the techno-pocalypse of Dollhouse's series finale. Penny was not so lucky on the other hand, as a random casualty of Dr. Horrible's exploding death ray, and catalyst for his fall from grace.

On The Rise: Felicia can currently be seen in her award-winning online sitcom The Guild, chronicling the lives of MMORPG players and all-around nerds everywhere. Truly a girl after all our hearts.

Citation :

11. Julie Benz
Darla - Buffy / Angel

The Chosen One: Buffy gave Julie Benz her first big break as the vampire-sire to Angel himself, Darla.

Her Stake in Things: Once a syphillis-infected prostitute (the picture should help you forget that), Darla became a vampire and sired Liam into Angelus, cutting a path across Europe, where most of her Buffy-Verse appearances take place. After being staked by the ensouled Angel in Sunnydale, Darla inexplicably surfaced as a human during his time in LA, before being sired once more, and ultimately bending the laws of the Buffy-Verse by becoming pregnant with Angel's child Connor, dying in childbirth. She returned once more as a spirit to convince the adult Connor of the good within him, but Obi-Wan said she was totally copying him.

Leaving Los Angeles: Julie's had quite a career since her time in Whedon-Ville, popping up in everything from Rambo to The Boondock Saints II, but she's best known as the (late) wife of mild-mannered serial killer Dexter.

Citation :

10. Christina Hendricks
Barmaid - Angel
Saffron / Yolanda / Bridget - Firefly

Cowboys and Space Hookers: Despite humble origins as a barmaid on a single episode of Angel, the voluptuous Christina Hendricks turned many heads as Firefly's name-changing con artist commonly known as Saffron.

War Stories: Saffron pulled a fast one on old Captain Reynolds, stowing aboard and claiming to be his wife from a drunken hick's ceremony, before seducing and knocking out almost half the crew (including Inara) and leaving the ship for scrap. She returned once more to help heist an antique laser in "Trash." What a pity she left Malcolm naked in the sun, instead of the other way around.

Still Flying: Christina continues dropping jaws as the sultry secretary Joan Holloway on AMC's Mad Men, leaving the others to Google pictures of her incessantly. I'll be right back.

Citation :

9. Michelle Trachtenberg
Dawn Summers - Buffy

The Chosen One - Teen-turned-Uberhottie Michelle Trachtenberg got her biggest role as Buffy's "magical ret-con" sister Dawn Summers in the fifth season.

Her Stake in Things: The Scoobies quickly realized something wasn't quite right about Dawn's existence, but no one would have guessed her to be a human representation of a vibrational energy matrix that opened Glory the Hell God's demon dimension. But once THAT pesky mess was all taken care of, Dawn was free to annoy viewers (while getting much, much hotter) throughout the remaining two seasons.

So Long Sunnydale: One of our favorite Girls of Geekdom, Michelle's bounced around her successful career with popular movies like Eurotrip, trashy drama Gossip Girl, and a starring role on the inexplicably renewed Mercy.

Citation :

7. Amber Benson
Tara Maclay - Buffy

The Chosen One: Amber Benson's Tara Maclay represented the first rung in Buffy's trip up the LBGT ladder as the magically delicious wiccan girlfriend to Willow Rosenberg.

Her Stake in Things: Ever the cruel one to young lovers, Joss let Willow and Tara find happiness together, even overcoming a brain-drain by season five big-bad Glory. She eventually left Willow for her abuse of magic, but sapphic love proved too strong to stay away from. It's a real bummer that a pesky stray bullet impaled her through the chest the morning after they got back together. Joss, you heartless d*ck.

So Long Sunnydale: Amber's bandied all around since leaving Buffy, including making pit-stops in Supernatural, but can be seen in upcoming Michael Madsen action-drama The Killing Jar.

Citation :

6. Gina Torres
Zoe Washburne - Firefly

Jasmine - Angel

Cowboys and Space Hookers: Take-no-prisoner first mate to Captain Reynolds in Firefly, and "Blessed Devourer" god Jasmine to Angel, Gina Torres was always a force to be reckoned with in the Whedon-Verse.

War Stories: Zoe served with Malcolm Reynolds in the Unification War, eventually settling down as first mate on Serenity, complete with husband Alan Tudyk. When not busy bickering or getting all her clothes torn off, Zoe made no secret of her desires for a baby, an opportunity robbed of her by Wash's untimely impalement at the climax of Serenity. Having given all his Firefly leads roles in the Whedon-Verse after cancellation, Gina was reborn as Jasmine, the devouring god birthed of Cordelia and Connor, wreaking havoc before her own impalement through the head.

Still Flying: The universe can't stop Gina's signal, appearing in everything from Justice League Unlimited to Chris Rock's I Think I Love My Wife to FlashForward. The woman likes her cancelled Sci-fi.

Citation :
5. Amy Acker
Fred Burkle / Illyria - Angel

Dr. Saunders / Whiskey - Dollhouse

The Chosen One: One of the few Whedon Babes to cross universes, Amy Acker had the distinction of playing Angel's scientist hottie Fred, her godly possession Illyria, and the Dollhouse's versatile active Whiskey.

Her Stake in Things: After being rescued from another dimension, Fred represented the team's scientific efforts to fight the demonic, falling in love with Wesley before her untimely death and ressurection as the blue goddess Illyria. Acker went through similar character shifts on Dollhouse, starting out as Dr. Saunders before realizing her own doll nature, and since coming to embody a host of personalities. She even killed Summer Glau! Truly horrible.

Leaving Los Angeles: Acker's most stable role outside of Joss Whedon has been on the recent ABC drama Happy Town, but like her Whedon characters, it wasn't long for this world.

Citation :
4. Charisma Carpenter
Cordelia Chase - Buffy / Angel

The Chosen One: Charisma Carpenter's Cordelia Chase (somebody likes alliteration) started as the vapid cheerleader on the path to redemption, ending up half-demon living on a higher plane of existence by Angel's end

Her Stake in Things: The charming Cordy's mean streak slowly turned around after falling in love with the plucky sidekick (and future drunk) Xander Harris, eventually moving to LA to work on her acting career and swing swords with Angel Investigations. Along the way she gained quite of bit of demon in her, and we don't just mean David Boreanaz, giving birth to the God Jasmine and ascending to a higher plane of existence.

So Long Sunnydale: Like most Buffy Alum, Charisma's had a tough time shaking off the Sunnydale rep, but you can catch her whetting her bad boy appetite in Sylvester Stallone's upcoming The Expendables.

Citation :
3. Sarah Michelle Gellar
Buffy Summers - Buffy / Angel

The Chosen One: Duh. She IS the chosen one, and the titular heroine of the entire series.

Her Stake in Things: Despite two deaths, and a never-ending onslaught of apocalypses, Sarah Michelle Gellar's Buffy remains the chosen one, and the leader of the now-thousands of slayers populating the Buffy-Verse. She's gone from wannabe-ordinary teenage girl to master of the forces of darkness in 7 years flat, and the canonical continuation Buffy comic books show no sign of stopping. Joss Whedon will always have Buffy the Vampire Slayer as his greatest creation (sorry, Firefly purists), and we'll never forget SMG as the iconic slayer.

So Long Sunnydale: Sarah's kept mostly out of the limelight in the intervening years, living happily with husband Freddie Prinze Jr, and raising her daughter, but she's made occasional ventures into the silver screen with horror flicks like The Grudge and will return to TV on USA's upcoming The Maladys.

Citation :
2. Eliza Dushku
Faith Lehane - Buffy/Angel
Caroline/Echo -Dollhouse

The Chosen One - Eliza Dushku first caught Joss Whedon's eyes as the rogue vampire slayer Faith in the Buffy-Verse, briefly considering giving the character her own series, but eventually deciding the actress was better saved for the lead of his latest cancelled TV project, the mind-wiped woman wonder Echo of Dollhouse

Her Stake in Things: Joss must have a real soft spot for Eliza, having given her character Faith character arcs across four seasons of Buffy, and Angel as well. Faith started as the latest in the new line of slayers, but quickly became a murderous menace under the influence of the snake-like Mayor Wilkins, eventually falling into a coma, rising to wreak more havoc, finding redemption in prison, and returning to help fight the final battle in Sunnydale. Dollhouse...I don't know, she was an animal activist or something...joined the Dollhouse...special...retained all of her imprints...brought down the Dollhouse...lived. Whatever. There's a reason that show failed.

Leaving Los Angeles: Eliza Dushku remains arguably the most successful star who's career was launched by the Buffy-Verse, maintaining popular movies during her time on the show like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Bring It On, while moving on to a string of smaller, respectable independent films, even rumored to have a spot in Ghostbusters III.

Citation :

1. Summer Glau
Prima Ballerina - Angel
River Tam - Firefly
Dr. Bennett Halverson - Dollhouse

Cowboys and Space Hookers: Gracefully beautiful Summer Glau, along with Felicia Day, holds the honor of making it into 3 seperate Whedon-Verses, as a ballerina cursed to dance forever in Angel, psychotic-psychic martial artist River Tam in Firefly, and brilliant disabled scientist Bennett Halverson in Dollhouse.

War Stories: Angel may have been around to release the ballerina from her curse, but Joss Whedon took a whole series and a movie to get to the bottom of the tortured River Tam's psychosis, being unconsciously haunted by the death of an entire planet. Thankfully, a bit of girl ass-kicking power (because Joss never does that) saves the day for most of the Serenity crew. Sadly, neither intelligence nor the kicking of asses could ruin Joss Whedon's promise to destroy all young love in the universe by putting a bullet in the brainpan of Dollhouse's Bennett Halverson, minutes after finding happiness with technophile Topher Brink.

Still Flying: Summer's biggest successes outside of the Whedon-Verses came with a stint on The 4400, and as programmed-to-be-entirely-too-hot cyborg Cameron on the short-lived Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, but she can also be seen in NBC's upcoming superhero drama The Cape.

Sorry SMG fans, but what really elevates Summer to the top other than nerd cred is that as a trained ballet dancer, this hottie has complete control over her body. Yeah.

Beaucoup mieux?
